MINI Tank.

At the Gamescom 2023, MINI unveiled an immersive display installation designed to present their new car in a groundbreaking way. Our involvement centered around the development of this MINI LAB, where the concept was to depict the car's transformation within a futuristic lab environment. We designed and manufactured a kinetic sculpture that symbolizes the car’s silhouette and responds dynamically to the visitor’s heartbeat, which is sensed at the heartbeat terminal. Working in collaboration with Jung von Matt and other partners, we contributed significantly to both the concept and the execution, blending innovative design with interactive technology.

“Working on the MINI Tank design and kinetic sculpture was a thrilling challenge, transforming the visitor's heartbeat into a dynamic experience. It was yet another opportunity to push our expertise in the realm of fair design and showcase our collaborative spirit with partners like Jung von Matt.”

Making Of.

In developing the MINI LAB, our team embarked on an enriching journey, significantly evolving our approach. We co-created a concept where a car “grows” in a lab, powered by visitors' heartbeats. This led us to design the tank and design and manufacture a large kinetic sculpture with complex mechanical requirements. The process involved meticulous planning, simulations, and precise execution, refining our workflow for assembling intricate installations. This project not only enhanced our expertise but also developed robust methods for managing sophisticated kinetic art.
